
Social work is a cornerstone of societal development, addressing complex challenges such as poverty, child protection, mental health, and community empowerment. In Kenya, the profession is vital for advancing social justice and improving the lives of vulnerable populations. However, the growing trend of exporting trained social workers to international markets raises a critical question: Are we tailoring our social work curriculum to meet Kenya’s unique challenges, or are we preparing professionals for contexts that don’t reflect our realities?
