For anyone looking attachment and Internship consider the following steps:
- Have an idea of where you want to go for attachment-social work field is very wide. If possible narrow down to at least 3 sectors.
- Identify which region/ location you want to practice in-consider housing and other logistics
- Map out the organizations/ institutions that match the sector you have identified in part 1 and the location in part 2.
- take your time to study and understand what the organizations you have mapped out do-what is their vision, mission, objectives, activities? Look at their website, go there in person or simply make a call. Don’t just rush to get placed, consider the time, money you will spend and your future goals.
- Based on what you have learned from step 1 through 4, what value can you add to the organization, and how will you benefit from the organization- find that match and express the same in your cover letter.
